The national register for short-term lets created in 2024 and annulled by the Supreme Court in May 2026.
Real Decreto 1312/2024 required tourist and seasonal lets to obtain a national registration number through the Land Registry from 1 July 2025. The Supreme Court annulled the register in judgment 620/2026 of 19 May 2026, holding that the State lacks competence to create it alongside the regional tourism registers.
The digital single window, through which platforms send rental data to the authorities, was upheld. Listings now carry the regional registration number. See tourist rental licences by region.
